
Accused drunken driver charged
Orland Park police arrested Ashley N. Lukaszewski, 20, of Mokena, at 1:38 a.m. June 11 and charged her with underage consumption of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions, improper lane usage and driving while under the influence of alcohol (DUI). Police said she braked suddenly as she drove eastbound on 159th Street at the La Grange Road intersection, causing her vehicle to skid and spin through the intersection and come to a stop facing east in the northbound lanes of traffic on La Grange Road. Her court date is July 7 at the 5th Municipal District Courthouse in Bridgeview.
In other Orland Park police reports, Deloria L. Payne, 27, of Country Club Hills, was arrested just after 3 p.m. June 11 and charged with theft by deception after making false refund transactions at a department store in the 15700 block of Harlem Avenue, where she is a cashier, police said. The store lost over $700 because of the transactions. Her court date is July 12 in Bridgeview.
Kristine M. Dathe, 23, of Orland Hills, was arrested at 1:38 p.m. June 8 and charged with two counts of theft after allegedly taking $4,500 from a bank on Orland Square Drive, where she is a teller. Her court date is July 7 in Bridgeview.
Kerry A. Kupferschmidt, 30, of Orland Park, was arrested just after 1:30 p.m. June 10 and charged with retail theft, driving with a revoked license, improper use of registration and having no proof of insurance after she removed $331 worth of merchandise from a department store in Orland Park Place shopping center, police said. Her court date was June 12 in Bridgeview.
Jerome I. Mathews, 42, of Chicago, was arrested at 1:34 a.m. June 10 and charged with DUI, having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) over .08, improper parking on a roadway and unlawful use of a weapon after police allegedly found him sleeping in his car, which was parked in the outside lane in the 16300 block of La Grange Road. Police also allegedly found a stun gun in his car. His court date is July 14 in Bridgeview.
Fernanda Rios, 38, and Jose R. Torres, 31, both of Cicero, were arrested at 5:20 p.m. June 9 and charged with retail theft after they removed clothing from a store in Orland Square Mall, police said. They will appear in court July 12 in Bridgeview.
Domenick Costantini, 67, of Orland Park, was arrested at 2:22 p.m. June 9 and charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly chased another person on foot with a baseball bat. The chase began after the two had a verbal altercation because Costantini nearly collided with the victim
