Worth man stabbed after argument at bar

A Chicago man was charged with aggravated battery last week after he allegedly stabbed another man following an argument inside a Chicago Ridge bar.
Marc E. Lambotte, 36, was arrested around 9:10 p.m. July 28 after he allegedly stabbed a Worth man three times in the abdomen with a small pocket knife at Jesse’s Tavern, 10501 Ridge-land Ave. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was treated and released, police said.
Lambotte, who was in the tavern with his father, was talking about religion and politics with the Worth man, and when the argument turned heated the man returned to his chair, Chicago Ridge police Deputy Chief Dennis Kapelinski said.
Lambotte then approached the man from behind and began to stab him with the pocket knife, causing puncture wounds below the victim’s ribcage, Kapelinski said. Lambotte reportedly left the bar and fled east, and was arrested at 106th Street and Lombard Avenue, roughly four blocks from the tavern, police said.
There was no blood on the pocket knife, but it was the only weapon in Lambotte’s possession when he was arrested, Kapelinski said. Lambotte’s bond was set at $250,000 on July 30, according to a spokesperson from the state’s attorney’s office. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 13 at the Cook County 5th Municipal District courthouse in Bridgeview.
