Accused drunken driver allegedly drives onto sidewalk

Palos Park police arrested Refugio Flores, 44, of Oak Lawn, at 4:12 a.m. April 25 and charged him with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, no valid driver’s license and improper lane usage after he was stopped for repeatedly crossing the center line and driving 15 mph under the speed limit in the 8200 block of West 123rd Street, police said. Flores at one point stopped his vehicle in the road for five seconds and allegedly drove up onto the sidewalk as he pulled over while stopped by police, according to the police report.

In other Palos Park police news, Kathleen J. Rossetti, 52, of Orland Park, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. April 25 and charged with DUI and two counts of improper lane usage after she was stopped in he 13100 block of South Tanglewood Avenue, police said. She allegedly crossed the center line several times and was driving 30 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the police report. Her court date is May 20 at the Cook County 5th District Municipal Courthouse in Bridgeview.

Hector Sanchez Jr., 35, of Wil-lowbrook, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. April 27 and charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole a large quantity of packaged meats from a store in the 9600 block of West 131st Street, police said. He also had two active warrants for retail theft, according to police.

Monica T Zapala, 24, of Lemont, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. April 26 and charged with driving with a suspended license and suspended registration after she was stopped in the 13100 block of Southwest Highway, police said. Her court date is May 20 in Bridgeview.

Kenneth D. Williams, 22, of Chicago, was arrested at 7:02 p.m. April 28 and charged with driving with a suspended license, no front plate, no driver side mirror and no insurance after he was stopped in the 11900 block of South La Grange Road, police said. His court date is May 20 in Bridgeview.

MarkR. Boyajian, 38, of Homer Glen, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. April  22 and cited with illegal use of oscillating/rotating or flashing red or white lights after he was stopped in the 9700 block of West 131st Street for having activated emergency lights and siren, police said. Boyajian is an auxiliary officer in Berwyn, but was not permitted to have sirens or emergency lights attached to his vehicle, according to the police report. He has a court date May 20 in Bridgeview.

Francisco Diaz, 19, of Chicago, was arrested at 6:35 a.m. May 3 and charged with no valid driver’s license, speeding and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle after he was stopped for driving 67 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 12600 block of Southwest Highway, police said. His court date is May 20 in Bridgeview.

Jeffrey W Webber, 27, of Villa Park, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. April 28 and cited with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped in the 12700 block of South Wolf Road, police said. He was stopped because he has an active warrant out of DuPage County, according to the police report. His court date is May 20 in Bridgeview.
