Coffee for Champions Friday morning at Dunkin’ Donuts

By Bob Bong

Local police will all be hanging out at Dunkin’ Donuts across the south and southwest suburbs on Friday to raise money for the Special Olympics.

The event formerly known as Cop on a Rooftop has been rebranded Coffee for Champions and will take place from 5 a.m. to noon Friday.

Coffee for Champions was selected to better represent what this wonderful event is about – Dunkin’ and the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run championing raising funds and awareness for the Special Olympics athletes in their local communities.

In Palos Heights, officers will be at the Palos Heights Dunkin, 12807 S. Harlem Avenue.

Due to COVID-19, this will be the only fundraising event in Palos Heights for Special Olympics. Since 2016, the Palos Heights Police Department has raised $122,865.69 for Special Olympics.

In Palos Park, officers will be at the Palos Park Dunkin’ Donuts at 130th Street and LaGrange Road.

Officers will be collecting donations from customers, and every dollar collected will go directly to the Indiana Special Olympics.

In Orland Park, officers will be Dunkin’ locations at 8940 W. 159th St., 11309 W. 143rd St., 14461 S. LaGrange Road and 15615 S. Harlem Ave.

In Chicago Ridge, officers will be at the Dunkin at 6408 W. 95th St.

In Hickory Hills, officers will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 7847 W. 95th St.

In Oak Lawn, officers will be at the Dunkin’ at 10801 S. Cicero Ave.

In Worth, officers will be at the Dunkin’ at 6707 W. 111th St.

Bridgeview officers will be at the Dunkin’ at 7949 W. 79th St. in Bridgeview and the location at 8049 S. Harlem Ave. in Burbank.

In Brookfield, officers will be collecting at the Dunkin’ at 9208 Ogden Ave.

In Countryside, officers will again be at the Dunkin’ at 5500 S. La Grange Road.

In Hodgkins, officers will be at the location at 9400 Joliet Road.

Justice police will be at the new Dunkin’ at 7801 Archer Road.

In McCook, officers will be at 8147 W. Joliet Road.

Willow Springs officers will be at 8424 S. Willow Springs Road.
