Argo High School’s Centennial Gala tickets on sale

By Carol McGowan

Tickets are still available for Argo Community High School’s Centennial Gala. It’ll be held on Saturday, September 11, at the Chicago Marriott Southwest in Burr Ridge.

The school celebrated it’s centennial during the 2019-2020 school year, and the event was originally planned to take place in June of 2020 at the end of the celebrated school year.

It had to be cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, and after other scheduling twists and turns, the date was set and tickets remain on sale.

The evening will start with a cocktail reception with passed hors devours and one hour open bar at 5:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. with an hour open bar.

The menu is set with hors devours being fresh mozzarella with grape tomato and pesto, steamed chicken pot stickers, almond staffed dates wrapped in bacon, three cheese toasted ravioli with marinara sauce and vegetable egg rolls with sweet n’ sour sauce.

Dinner will be plated with a house salad of watermelon radish, carrot, cucumber, tomatoes and red wine vinaigrette. There will be a duo plate of seared herb chicken and braised short rib served with boursin mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, green beans, and red wine demi.

Dessert will be chocolate cake, strawberry coulis, whip and fresh berries.

During the cocktail reception, and dessert time, there will be a variety of entertainment including special musical guest, Argo alum Miguel Garza, video presentations, recognition of living superintendents, and even a skit by former Argo staff.

At 8:15, Club Argo (after party) begins. This will transition as the evening goes on to a cash bar. Attendees will be able to mingle with others until the event concludes at midnight.

Tickets are $125 and are available through the school website at www.argohs.net. Guests are invited to send photos to [email protected] to be included in a video that will be played at the event.
