Summit Dental Smiles now open in Summit
By Carol McGowan
Summit Dental Smiles is now open at 7557 W. 63rd St. in Summit.
It’s in a newly remodeled building that was formerly a law office, and medical office many years prior to that.
If you visited the building in the past, you wouldn’t recognize it now. It sat vacant for years, and has been completely gutted and remodeled into a state-of-the-art dental facility.

Summit Dental Smiles from 63rd Street in Summit.
When it was rehabbed, the lower level (basement) was dug down another two feet and re-built. The building also has a completely new ventilation system.
Dr. Zubair Mohammed is part owner of the clinic, along with Dr. Muzaffar Mirza. Dr. Mohammed, along with Dr. Wizarath Hussain are the doctors who operate the facility.
They accept just about all insurance plans, including public aid insurance. They are open six days a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are closed on Sunday.
They chose later hours on Tuesdays and Thursday, to accommodate clients who cannot make it earlier in the day.
Their dental group has been in business since 1982, and Mirza Dental has five practices overall.
They aren’t completely new to Summit as they took over, and were recently operating out of the former practice of Dr. Kamdar at 62nd and Archer Road. Now that the 63rd Street location is open, they are no long using the Archer Road location.
At the new Summit location, they offer the latest technology in dentistry. Not only do they perform exams and general dentistry for children and adults, they do 3-D images of the mouth, do implants and dentures, and will soon offer orthdontic treatment.
For those not so squeamish, they will soon offer you a choice to see the work you are having done on a screen in the room. They will have a camera in the dental light to give you a look while they are performing a procedure.
Dr. Mohammed is excited for the opening of the new building. “We are happy to be at the new Summit location, and are looking forward to providing service to the community that we are in. We welcome everyone.”
