Beloved husband of Ludwika (nee Turziak) Budz; loving father of Jan (Joanna) Budz, Kazimierz (Anna) Budz, Wladyslaw (Maria) Budz and Anna Budz (Andrzej Szaflarski); dear grandfather of Arthur (Monika) Budz, the late Natalia Budz, Ewelina Budz, Christian Bafia, Daniel Bafia, Kevin Budz, Erik Krzystyniak, Julianna Krzystyniak and Sebastian Budz; cherished son of the late Michalina (nee Rogozniczan) and the late Sebastian Budz; fond brother of Aniela Burkat, Maria Gronska and Wladyslaw Budzynski. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Amelia Montoya De Esparza, passed away peacefully at home December 19.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Esparza; loving and devoted mother of Inez (Sylvia) Esparza, Criselda (Alfonso) Vasquez, Salvador Esparza, Lupe (Maria) Esparza, the late SP4 Guadalupe Esparza Montoya (died in action in Vietnam), the late Leonardo (Maria Elena) Esparza, the late Erendida (Angel) Guajardo and the late Angelo Esparza. Amelia will be missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation was held December 23 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Visitation December 24 at the funeral home until time of prayers. Procession from the funeral home to Resurrection Cemetery where Amelia will be laid to rest.

Benjamin E. Ortega, 72, longtime resident of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community, passed away December 16.

An accomplished businessman, Benjamin was the much-respected owner of Paris Jewelers on Archer Avenue for over 25 years. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and generosity.

He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. He was the devoted husband of Maria del Carmen Torres; loving and supportive father of Sandra (Abel) Guevara and Carina (Rick) Silva; proud and much-loved grandfather of Monica Guevara, Angel Guevara, Andres Guevara, Isabella Silva, Christian Silva and Jonathan Silva. One of 13 children of Alfonso and Margarita Ortega, Benjamin will be missed by his many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held December 26 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Visitation was held December 27 at the funeral home until time of prayers. Procession from the funeral home to Our Lady of Snows Church, 4810 S. Leamington Ave. Chicago, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.

Elaine Pinos, 82, passed away December 3.

Beloved wife of Peter Pinos for over 61 years; loving mother of Kosta (Joanna) Pinos, Tula (Kosta) Kotsiovos, Dena (George) Blanas; dear grandmother of Georgia (Tom), Patricia (Tom), Joanna (Frank), Angelo, Peter, Maria and Peter; dearest great-grandmother of Penny, Gianni, Alexander, and Peter; fond sister, aunt, cousin, and friend of many here, in Greece, and Australia.

Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was a member of the Kolo Nr. 2 Nowy Targ im. Wladyslawa Orkana przy ZPPA.

Jan Truchan, 61, of Oak Lawn, formerly of Chicago, passed away on December 22.

He was the beloved husband of Maria (nee Zubek), loving father of Joanna (Konrad) Wachowski, Marek Truchan, Bartek (Jowita) Truchan and Agnieszka Truchan; dear grandfather of Emma and Kyle; fond brother of Bronislawa (Stanislaw) Leja, Stanislaw (Anna) Truchan, Malgorzata (Miroslaw) Borowski, Stanislawa Truchan, Krystyna (Stanislaw) Mikos and the late Wladyslawa (late Emil) Sperlak; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Kolo 65 Ciche Dolne.

Visitation was December 28 at Zarzycki Manor Chapels, 8999 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs. Funeral services were December 29 at St. Blasé Church in Summit. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was the loving mother of Linda Gleisner Peterson and Karen (Wayne) Kumke; dear grandmother of Candice (Tim) Blackwood and Nicole (Stacey) Decker; dearest great-grandmother of Addison and David Blackwood; Emma, Audrey and Lydia Decker; predeceased by her sisters, Beulah, Myrtle, Esther, Lorraine and Irene; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was December 29 at Zarzycki Manor Chapels Ltd., 8999 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs, with funeral services at 12:30 p.m. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park.
