Orland Park arrests man as an armed habitual criminal

A Chicago man was arrested in Orland Park last week after he was stopped and a handgun was found in his waistband.
Police stopped a vehicle traveling northbound in the 16900 block of LaGrange Road about 10 p.m. on Monday, February 7.
The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and the driver was identified as Daniel Brown, 38.
During the traffic stop, police found a handgun in Brown’s waistband. The weapon was secured and Brown was transported to the police department and charged with traffic violations and being an armed habitual criminal.
“The Orland Park Police Department has and will continue to be aggressive in removing armed habitual offenders with extensive criminal arrest records from our streets,” said Police Chief Joe Mitchell.
Brown appeared at a bond hearing on February 8 before the Honorable Judge Havis at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Bail was set at $100,000.
His next court appearance is set for February 24 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
