Orland Park Library announces 5 free concerts for the summer

Orland Park Public Library announced this week that five free concerts will be performed for residents at the library, 14921 S. Ravinia Ave. Three concerts are for families and two are intended for an adult audience.
“The library has a long tradition of offering concerts during the summer on the weekends,” said Library Director Mary Adamowski.
The first concert, Istvan and His Imaginary Band, will be held Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m. It requires no registration. Residents can drop in and don’t have to worry about showing their library card.
“Bring the kids,” said Youth Services Manager Brandi Smits. “This will be a concert to keep the kids engaged. Kids will sing along, dance, play, and learn about making good choices.”
The second concert, Everly Lovers, held Sunday, July 10, at 2 p.m. is intended for an audience who enjoys country rock cover bands.
“The Everly Lovers are known for their steel guitars and close harmonies,” said Community Engagement Manager Sarah Kleiva.
The third concert, Little Miss Ann, will be held Saturday, July 30, at 2 p.m. Little Miss Ann will be ready to get kids moving. First generation Filipina-American, Little Miss Ann offers a joyful perspective on important themes such as healthy relationships, adoption, emotions, togetherness, and inclusion.
The fourth concert, Jessie’s Girl, will be held Sunday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. This high energy rock band plays tribute songs from the ’80s.
“Bring your dancing shoes,” said Communications Manager Jackie Boyd. “Adults will enjoy these throwbacks from the ’80s.”

ScribbleJim plays a camp counselor while performing songs that spark imaginations, inspire creativity, encourage audience participation, and provide kids with opportunities for creative expression.
The Orland Park Public Library is located at 14921 S. Ravinia Ave in Orland Park, Illinois. The library serves the residents of the Village of Orland Park.
