Palos Heights Classic Car Show returns July 21
The Palos Heights Classic Car Event will return to Harlem Avenue on Thursday, July 21, from 5-9 p.m.
It bills itself as the largest gathering of classic cars in the area and expects hundreds of classic cars from the 1920s through the 1980s to be on display on both sides of Harlem Avenue, from 122nd to 125th streets.
It will cost $10 to register a car. There is no preregistration. Cars are on a first come, first parked system. If you want to participate, your car has to be at least 1990 model year or older.
In addition to the cars, guests will be able to enjoy food from local merchants, beverages for the kids, and ice-cold beer from the local bars and restaurants. Live music and a disk jockey will be playing all of the classic hits throughout the evening.
This year’s car show will feature a Split-the-Pot Raffle. Tickets are $5 each.
The Palos Heights Beautification Committee is looking for volunteers and sponsors. Sponsorship proceeds enable the committee to host a fun and entertaining evening for the whole family. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, ticket sales, registration and parking of cars, and clean-up. For more information, visit https://palosheights.org/
Harlem Avenue will be shut down for the show, so detours will be in place.
