Chicago Ridge police reports for November 17
Cannabis possession
Joseph S. Johanek, 22, of, Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of cannabis following a traffic stop at 10:53 p.m. Nov. 9, in the 10100 block of Ridgeland Avenue. Police said they detected a strong odor of cannabis and found a cannabis blunt and three grams of the drug being illegally transported in a mason jar, not a sealed dispensary container. He was also cited for failure to signal when required and is due in court on Jan. 4, 2023.
Aggravated speeding
Melak M. Shehadeh, 19, of Chicago Ridge, was charged with aggravated speeding following a traffic stop at 2:17 p.m. Nov. 8, in the 6100 block of West 111th Street. Police said he was driving 75 mph in a 35-mph zone. He was also cited for driving without insurance and is due in court on Jan. 9, 2023.
Driving with cellphone
Amanda E. Weston, 30, of Chicago, was charged with using an electronic communication device while driving at 9:42 a.m. Nov. 8, in the 10300 block of South Ridgeland Avenue. Police said she was also cited for driving with a suspended license. She is due in court on Dec. 19.
Suspended license
Yousef A. Yasin, 23, of Worth, was charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at 2:53 a.m. Nov. 9, in the 10500 block of Southwest Highway. Police said he also cited for failing to signal when required, no rear license-plate light, expired registration, improper use of registration and driving without insurance. He is due in court on Dec. 19.
Battery
Ibrahim M. Kishta, 29, of Hickory Hills, was taken into custody at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 8, on an outstanding arrest warrant for battery in the 10600 block of South Parkside Avenue. Police said arrest stems from an incident that occurred at 5:18 p.m. Sept. 23, in the 10600 block of South Parkside Avenue. He is due in court on Dec. 19.
