Shepard Air Force JROTC adopts a highway
Service comprises a huge part of joining the U.S. Air Force Junior ROTC program at Shepard High School. Throughout the year students volunteer for various worthy causes.
This spring Major (ret.) Dan Johnson and his students added a new project. Shepard joined the Illinois Department of Transportation “Adopt a Highway” program.
Twice each year students will clean a stretch of 135th Street. They join National Honor Society and Leo Club from Shepard, who clean 127th Street between Ridgeland and Cicero avenues.
