Palos School District 118 will kick off the 2023-24 school year with two new assistant principals at its schools.
Jennifer Legris has joined the district as assistant principal for Palos South Middle School, and Kristie Tieri will step into the role at Palos West Elementary.
Legris received her bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois Wesleyan University and holds a master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development from Capella University and a masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. She previously spent 14 years as a classroom teacher and Math Intervention Specialist.
Legris said that she is committed to creating a safe learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students and is looking forward to working with the students, families, and staff at Palos South.
Tieri earned her bachelor’s degree from Lewis University and holds a master’s degree in administration and another master’s in special education, both from the University of St. Francis. She has also earned a Director of Special Education Endorsement from the State of Illinois.
Tieri has been a classroom educator for 26 years teaching in both Florida and Illinois. She began her career with District 118 as a general education teacher at Palos East Elementary in 2007 where, for the past seven years, she has served as a special education teacher.
Tieri said that she is looking forward to joining the District 118 administrative team where she will continue her work to create a successful learning environment for all students.
