FRANK BRZECZEK 

Frank Brzeczek, 97, has passed away. 

He was the beloved husband of the late Cornelia nee Onderwater; loving father of Cornelia (the late Thomas J.) Dobbin, late Judith (Robert) Gale, Jacqueline (Kurt) Peterson, the late Frank Jr. (Mary), Thomas (Tina), Timothy (Rebecca), and Ronald (Janeen) Brzeczek; Grandfather of 19; Great Grandfather of 16; Great-Great Grandfather of two; fond son of the late Wojciech “Albert” and Sophia; dear brother of Lorraine Deegan; preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.   

Memorial donations appreciated to Society of Little Flower in Darien. 

Visitation was December 16 at Kosary Funeral Home, 9837 S. Kedzie, Evergreen Park. Funeral was December 17 at St. Bernadette Church. Interment private.

Adriana Colon (nee Torres), 86, passed away December 10.

Beloved wife of 61 years to Jose A. Colon; loving mother of Joseph Colon and Diana (Ricardo) Cuellar: dearest grandmother of Zerye Quinones and Ricardo Jr. Cuellar; dear great grandmother of Josephine and Alonzo; devoted daughter of the late Juana (nee Arroyo) and late Ramon Torres; fond sister of Ada (Carmelo) Davila, late Ramon Torres, late Paula Jimenez, late Paulina Torres, late Dora Lopez, late Victor Vega, late Francisco Torres, late Baslio Torres and late Andres Torres;  aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was December 15 at Zarzycki Manor Chapels Ltd., 5088 S. Archer Ave., Chicago. Funeral was held December 16 at the Church of St. Bruno for Mass. Interment St. Casimir Cemetery. 

ROSA M. CORREA-IBARRA

Rosa M. Correa-Ibarra, 71, of Summit, passed away peacefully at home December 11 with her loving family at her side.

She was the cherished mother of Sergio (Angelica), César (Brenda), Uriel (Jasmine), Miguel (Juana), Mayra and Monica; much loved grandmother to many and dear sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Visitation was held December 18 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. A Service in Celebration of Rosa’s life was held afterward. Per Rosa’s wishes she will be buried in Mexico. Condolences may be sent to Rosa’s family on her personal tribute website at www.foranfuneralhome.com.

Beloved husband of the late Christine (nee Wesolowski) Dunbar; loving father of Jeff (Kim) Dunbar, Scott (Lora) Dunbar and Karen (Greg) Forzley; dear grandfather of Michael, Nichole, Morgan, Madison, Samantha, Christine, Christopher, Ashley and A.J; dearest great-grandfather of Kayden, Ethan, Joseph, Bradley, Jacob, Alexa and Olivia; cherished son of the late Ursula (nee Steponavicius) and the late Julius Dunbar; fond brother of Joan Pape. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation was November 30 at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice. Funeral was November 30 at the funeral home. Cremation rites to be accorded.

Jean Fornek (nee Buras), 98, passed away December 7.

Beloved wife of the late Ted Fornek; loving mother of John (Geraldine) and Alice (Matthew) Luetger; dear grandmother of Michael, Brian (Kenzie), Jennifer (Jim) Tsai, David and Mark; dear sister of the late Lillian (late Bruno) Berezniak, the late Lottie (late Edwin) Trybus and the late Irene (late Phil) DeSalvo. Devoted aunt to many.

Visitation was December 13. A funeral prayer service followed at the Richard-Midway Funeral Home, 5749 Archer Ave. in Chicago. Interment was held December 14 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for graveside services.

Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

June E. Heavner, 91, late of Orland Park, passed away December 17. 

She was the wife the late Paul Heavner; mother of Anne (Tony) Propati, Micheal (Dorothy) O’Brien, Susan (Ed) Punjak, William (Colleen) O’Brien, Jane (late William) Crohan, Betsy Zdznicki and Timothy (late Darlene) O’Brien; grandmother of Katie (Ryan) Tarasos, Melissa (Ken) O’Brien, Steven (Melissa) O’Brien, Sean (Jessica) O’Brien, Michael Timothy (Barb) O’Brien, Margaret (John) Choboy, Joe O’Brien, Lauren (Will) Huffman, Stephanie (Paul) Bonfiglio, Danny Zdznicki, Ryan Zdznicki, and Heather Emmons; great-grandmother of Tucker, Charlie, Garrett, Hanna, Emma, Mya, Mark, Will, Charlotte, Brock, Alexis, Matt, Molly, and Avery; former wife of the late William F. O’Brien; aunt of Tommy Wiese and Wendy Wiese. 

June was a retired school library clerk with many years of dedicated service. 

A funeral service was held at Thornridge Funeral Home. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery. 

RONALD J. HICKEY

He was the beloved husband of the late Norma E. nee Hardtke; loving father of Kathy (Joel) Kreger, Keith (Michele) Hickey, Kevin Hickey, Kurt (Kellyann) Hickey, Kerry (Kathy) Hickey, Karen (Dave) Kamykowski; much loved grandpa of nineteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild. Fond brother of Donna (the late Tom) Peloquin.   

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Visitation was December 13 at Kosary Funeral Home, 9837 S. Kedzie, Evergreen Park. Funeral services were December 14 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 W. 94th St. Oak Lawn. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

SPENCER FIELD KOLMAN 

Spencer Field Kolman, 21, of Hickory Hills, passed away December 16.

He was the cherished son of Kenneth R. and the late Elizabeth (nee Abbott) Kolman and Elizabeth Miller Kolman; dearest brother of Zachary and Evangeline Kolman; loving grandson of Ronald and Pamela Kolman, Robert and the late Leslie Abbott and Dr. Stephen and Kimberley Miller; fond nephew of Kimberly (Adam) DuMoulin, Robert Abbott, Anne (Stuart) Randle and Jennifer Heyen; dear cousin of Sarah, Kathryn, Matt, Ben, Emily, Luke, Will, Lizzy, Ellis and Nathan; also dearly loved by his many friends and his favorite cats Nexus, Houston and Tony B. 

Spencer was a resilient young man who lived through many struggles since a very young age. At 16 months, he was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, which led to a double lung and heart transplant in 2016 due to pulmonary fibrosis.

He was a 2018 graduate of Stagg High School and was studying Aviation Management and Business at Lewis University where he was the recipient of an education scholarship. 

There are countless family, friends, medical teams, and organizations that have been a constant support in Spencer’s life, however, none more so than St. Louis Children’s Hospital where Spencer’s family appreciate any gifts or memorial donations to be made to in his name. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 4-8 p.m. at Zarzycki Manor Chapels Ltd., 8999 S. Archer Avenue, Willow Springs. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 28, at the funeral home. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. 

KozlowskiJOSEPH M. KOZLOWSKI

Joseph M. Kozlowski, 86, of Chicago’s Clearing community, passed away December 11.

He was the beloved husband of Arlene (nee Dziedzec); loving father of Michael (Kathleen) Kozlowski, Lorraine (Steve) Scime and Kathy (Leo) Chabot; proud and much loved grandfather of Michael and Kelley Kozlowski, Larisa and Sarah Scime and Samantha, Jessica and Damian Chabot; dear brother of the late Leonard (late Josephine), late Aloysius “Al” (Marie) and late Edwin Kozlowski. Joe will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and club members.

Visitation was December 16 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Visitation was December 16 until time of prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. James A. O’Leary, 65, passed away December 6 after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Beloved husband of 19 years to Donna (nee Harvey) O’Leary; loving father of Dave; dear brother of Chas (Debbie), late Michael, late Maureen (late Wayne) Biskup and the late Carol O’Leary; fond uncle of Kelly (Justin), Jamie, Charlie and Melissa; beloved son of the late Charles J. and Anna Jane (nee Robinson) O’Leary.

Anna Tarasewicz, 98, passed away December 6.

Preceded in death by her husband, Wladyslaw Tarasewicz and many dear friends. Survived by daughter, Teresa; dear niece, Helena Diederich (late husband, Steve); Helena’s son, Tom (Stacy) and their son, sweet Matthew; beloved niece, Zofia Pawlaczek and her family; various relatives and friends in all parts of the world. Thank you to the kind staff and administration at Generations Regency in Niles, and Unity Hospice. Special appreciation to Kinga Paslawska for all her help.

Arthur M. Weiss Sr., 80, of Monee, formerly of Chicago’s Archer Heights community, passed away December 7.

Beloved husband and best friend of 57 years to Madelyn (nee Malinsky); loving father of Arthur M. Weiss, Jr. and Lois Weiss; cherished grandfather of Liam; dear brother of Steven (Sigrid), Pamela and Melody; loving uncle to Ryan, Erik and Brandy; he is predeceased by his parents, Lois (nee Schreiber) and Melvin Weiss.

The services were private. Future inurnment will be at St. Mary of Leckrone Cemetery, Pennsylvania.
